Mandolinist Avi Avital and accordionist Martynas Levickis are two of the most important advocates of instruments which are rarely heard on the classical stages. They also share a passion for the surprising and the unusual. Gaining new perspectives, daring to take a fresh look at music history and at the same time going beyond the limits of their classical repertoire connects the two artists. With charm and virtuosity, they inspire their audience again and again. This summer they join the Academy as guests at the Rheingau Music Festival with a programme that ranges from baroque to classical to modern.
